Please Note:

  • These are known quantities and ranges for feed sizes, total daily feeds and so on. Use these as an approximate guideline for ordering. Each baby is different and may feed more or less per feed and throughout each 24 hour day.
  • These quantities assume formula feeding exclusively. If you are combination feeding, please reduce the numbers depending on your production volume. Weaning and starting solids are already accounted for at 6-12 months.
  • From experienced parents, including previous customers and ourselves, if you are first-time parents, we recommend ordering an extra can the first month using powder formula. This accounts for remaking feeds that were measured incorrectly, spilled feeds, rejected feeds, and extra feeds especially at nighttime. We have all made mistakes during sleepless nights or had ‘learning curve’ errors at the beginning (don’t worry, it gets better.) When your baby thrives on a specific formula, you need to have it on hand, even if it goes unused, just for your peace of mind. With so many other things to worry about, running out of the “house favorite” formula is a giant ball of stress you don’t need.
  • * The range of cans per month is bigger at 3-6 months to account for growth spurts and weaning at the end of this age group.

Our suggested order quantity and sequence if only using powder formula is as follows:

2-4 Weeks Before Due Date (if using powder formula and/or combination feeding):

  1. Order 1-3 boxes of your preferred Starter Pack (Kendamil, HiPP, Aptamil, or Cow and Gate). We recommend these for the hospital including baby’s first feeds and for 1-2 nights back home.
  2. Order 1 can of your preferred 1st Infant Powder formula (Kendamil, HiPP, Aptamil). Pro Tip: If the starter pack was successful for baby, the same brand powder formula will likely be well-tolerated.

After 1-2 days of successful feeds back home:

  1. Order cans for remainder of the 1st month (5-6 cans total)
  2. Monitor the quantity of formula used, and after 2 weeks, plan for the 2nd month. Usually this will be larger and fewer feeds meaning order 1 less can than the 1st month.

Again, for combination feeding, reduce the order quantities depending on your production volume.

Our suggested order quantity and sequence for liquid ready to feed formula use only is as follows:

2-4 Weeks Before Due Date (if using liquid formula and/or combination feeding):

  1. Order 1-3 boxes of your preferred Starter Pack (Kendamil, HiPP, Aptamil, or Cow and Gate). We recommend these for the hospital including baby’s first feeds and for 1-2 nights back home.
  2. Order 1 x 6 pack of your preferred 1st Infant Ready to Feed formula (Kendamil, HiPP, Aptamil). Pro Tip: If the starter pack was successful for baby, the same brand liquid formula will almost certainly be well-tolerated.

After 1-2 days of successful feeds back home:

  1. Order ready to feed bottles for remainder of the 1st month (9-14 six packs total)
  2. Monitor the quantity of formula used. After 2 weeks, plan for the 2nd month. Quantities will be similar to the first month, perhaps slightly less.

Again, for combination feeding, reduce the order quantities depending on your production volume.

Remember you can mix and match powder and liquid formulas since each feed is designed as a complete nutrition meal. Just follow the feed sizes for each. We recommend using the same brand for each one to minimize feeding issues due to differences in taste or texture.

FAQs About European Baby Formula Reordering

Can I buy European baby formula in the USA?

Yes, many families in the USA shop for European formulas through trusted retailers. Always check the product details, preparation instructions, and current packaging before ordering.

Why is European baby formula better?

Parents often compare European formulas for their ingredients, options like organic baby formulas, goat milk formula, and formula choices that may include DHA, vitamins and minerals, or partially hydrolyzed blends. The best choice depends on your baby’s needs and your pediatrician’s guidance.

What are the EU standards for baby formula?

European formula regulations set standards for infant formula composition, ingredients, and labeling. If you are comparing European formula regulation with a U.S. fda-regulated form, review the current product packaging and manufacturer instructions carefully.

Which European baby formula is considered the best?

The best European formula is the one that works well for your baby and fits your feeding plan. Families often compare Kendamil, HiPP, Aptamil, and Cow and Gate, along with options such as European organic baby formula, before making a decision.
