Liquid Ready to Feed Formula Feed Preparation Instructions

Preparation

This feeding table should only be used as a guide. All babies are different and may require more or less than is shown below.  While scheduled feedings may be needed for newborns in the first month, the recommended feed quantities for Ready to Feed Baby Formula Milk are designed for on-demand feeding. If you need more advice talk to your healthcare professional.

Assumes weaning at 6 months.

Please follow preparation and feeding instructions carefully; failure to do so may make your baby ill.

Step 1

Wash hands, then sterilize your feeding utensils and bottle components according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 2

Check the ready to feed best-before date and that the cap and seal are intact, then shake the bottle well. Open the cap and remove the factory seal. Remember, these are imported products; they will be in European Date Format (DD/MM/YYYY).

Step 3

Pour the required amount of milk into a sterilized feeding bottle (refer to the feeding guide).

Step 4

HiPP Organic first infant milk can be given at room temperature or warmed stovetop if desired. If warmed, check the temperature before feeding. Do not heat feeds in the microwave; hot spots may occur, which could cause scalding.

Step 5

Place on a sterilized teat and cap on the bottle.

Step 6

Cool to a natural body temperature by running the bottle (lid on) under cold running water if needed. Always test the temperature of the formula on the inside of your wrist before feeding.

Step 7

Unused feed in the product bottle should be refrigerated immediately (below 5°C) and used within 24 hours or less. For hygiene reasons, discard unfinished feeds from the feeding bottle immediately after a feed (1 hour or less).

Note: It is normal for some sediment to be found at the bottom of the bottle before shaking.
